Donald Trump has officially nominated New York Representative Elise Stefanik, 40, to be his US Ambassador to the United Nations. The Republican congresswoman, a strong supporter of Trump’s “America First” agenda, has accepted the position and will focus on advancing pro-Israel policies at the UN.

In a statement to the “New York Post”, Trump praised Stefanik for her strength, intelligence, and loyalty. “Elise is an incredibly strong, tough, and smart America First fighter,” he said, underlining her consistent support during his presidency, including her role as part of his defense team during his 2020 impeachment trial.

Stefanik, who serves as the No. 4 Republican in the House of Representatives, expressed gratitude for the nomination. “I am truly honored to earn President Trump’s nomination to serve in his Cabinet as US Ambassador to the United Nations,” she stated, emphasizing her commitment to furthering the country’s interests on the global stage.

She went on to highlight Trump’s 2024 victory as a message of hope for both the US and its international partners, stressing the need for strong alliances that align with American values.

This marks a key appointment in Trump’s Cabinet following his election victory. In addition to Stefanik’s nomination, he announced his campaign manager, Susie Wiles, as his White House chief of staff, reflecting her pivotal role in his political success.
