During a Pennsylvania rally, former President Donald Trump ridiculed Kamala Harris for her claim of working at McDonald’s in the 1980s. Trump dismissed her story, referring to Harris’ job handling fries as something she exaggerated.
“For a long time, she’s been talking about her experience at McDonald’s,” Trump said. “I think I’m gonna go to McDonald’s and work the french fry job for about half an hour, just to see how it is.”
Trump Faces Backlash Online
Trump’s mockery quickly sparked reactions on social media. Many users took to X (formerly Twitter) to call out Trump’s obsession with McDonald’s, noting his regular consumption of Big Macs. One user wrote, “He’s obsessed with McDonald’s, from Kamala in the ’80s to his Big Mac orders today.” Others doubted Trump’s ability to work the fry station for even half an hour.
Harris’ McDonald’s Story in Her Campaign
Harris has mentioned her brief summer job at McDonald’s in Alameda, California, several times. In an August post on X, Harris described herself as a “daughter of Oakland, California” who worked at McDonald’s while pursuing her degree. Her campaign also released a video highlighting her middle-class upbringing, noting her work at the fast-food chain as part of her story.
Trump Calls Harris a Liar
Trump continued his attacks, claiming on Truth Social that Harris had lied about working at McDonald’s. “Comrade Kamala Harris lied about working at McDonald’s. SHE NEVER WORKED THERE, they think she’s nuts,” Trump wrote.
Trump’s Grocery Giveaway in Pennsylvania
While making headlines for mocking Harris, Trump also made a gesture in Pennsylvania by helping a local mother buy groceries. At a local market, he handed the woman $100 in cash, telling her, “It just went down $100.” He added, “We’re going to do this for you in the White House.”
