Former White House press secretary Stephanie Grisham, who served under the Trump administration, made a notable appearance at the Democratic National Convention (DNC) in Chicago, openly supporting US Vice President Kamala Harris. In her address, Grisham sharply criticized former President Donald Trump, stating, “He has no empathy, no morals and no fidelity to the truth,” according to CNN. She revealed that Trump often mocked his supporters, referring to them as “basement dwellers” behind closed doors.

Grisham also shared a significant moment during the January 6 riots, where she asked former First Lady Melania Trump to post a statement denouncing lawlessness. Melania simply responded, “No.” Grisham, who had held key roles in the Trump administration, emphasized that she was now backing a Democrat, Kamala Harris, because of her dedication to truth and respect for the American people.

The second night of the DNC also featured prominent Democrats like former President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama. Additionally, Jack Schlossberg, the grandson of John F. Kennedy, likened Vice President Harris to his grandfather, praising her commitment to public service.

In her first appearance at the convention, Vice President Harris expressed her gratitude to President Joe Biden, acknowledging his leadership and lifetime of service to the nation. The convention also showcased Harris’ heritage, highlighting the influence of her Indian-born mother, Shyamala Gopalan, in her life. Harris, the first Asian American woman of color to lead a major party ticket, received full support from the Democratic Party after Biden endorsed her.
