Tamil star Trisha has filed a defamation case against former AIADMK member AV Raju for his derogatory remarks about her. Though he released a video apologising to her and other members of the film fraternity, Trisha has not backed down. AV Raju was expelled from the AIADMK on February 17 for violating party rules.

The defamation suit filed by the Leo actress, for an undisclosed amount, states that tremendous damage has been done to her personal reputation and caused mental distress. AV Raju has been asked not to issue any more statements about Trisha and to take steps to remove all the articles published on various publications and social media. He has also been asked to tender an unconditional apology to her 24 hours after he receives the notice.
The notice claimed that failure to comply with the demands would result in her proceeding with criminal and civil action against Raju.

She has demanded him to issue an unconditional apology in a reputed English daily and a reputed Tamil daily with a circulation of more than 5 lakh copies per day. Trisha has sought that media on YouTube and electronic media to broadcast his unconditional apology as well.
This is the second time Trisha is calling out a derogatory comment. In November last year, Trisha called out Mansoor Ali Khan for making crass remarks against her, after the release of Leo. Mansoor Ali Khan issued an apology post that issue.
