The Trinamool Congress today tried to keep up the pressure on the BJP Government regarding the Parliament security breach by seeking the resignation of Home Minister Amit Shah over the breakdown of security protocols and the expulsion of BJP MP Prathap Simha for signing the entry passes for the miscreants. It also demanded that Prime Minister Narendra Modi break his silence on the matter on the floor of the House.
Trinamool Congress leaders also condemned the decision to suspend the Leader of Trinamool Parliamentary Party, Rajya Sabha MP Derek O’Brien for the rest of the session as he demanded that Home Minister Amit Shah must make a statement on the security breach.
“Suspension is like a daily activity for them. Even I was suspended three times and by taking today’s suspension into account, even Derek [O’Brien] has been suspended for the third time. This is a suspension hat-trick for us,” said MP Dola Sen. “An MP has the right to come down to the Well and speak. I can walk up to the table to seek answers to my questions.”
