Mumbai: Man Hospitalized After Allegedly Finding Dead Rat in Meal From Barbeque Nation

A resident of Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, Rajeev Shukla, claimed to have had a distressing experience after ordering a veg meal box from the Worli outlet of the popular restaurant chain, Barbeque Nation, during his recent visit to Mumbai. In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Shukla shared his grievances, asserting that he found a dead mouse in the food, and that consuming the meal led to his hospitalization for over 75 hours.

Accompanying his post were images of the order receipt, the delivered package, and the alleged contaminant. Shukla clarified that he had not yet filed a complaint at the Nagpada police station at the time of sharing his tweet.

The incident gained considerable attention on social media, with many users tagging relevant authorities to seek assistance for Shukla. Barbeque Nation responded to the complaint on X, expressing regret for any inconvenience and stating that their regional office representative was in touch with Shukla to understand the details and work toward a resolution.

In a report by The Free Press Journal, Shukla mentioned that the food also contained cockroaches, resulting in food poisoning and his subsequent admission to Nair Hospital. Shukla reportedly emailed Barbeque Nation to formally lodge a complaint regarding the unsatisfactory experience. The restaurant chain has assured a commitment to addressing Shukla’s concerns promptly and effectively.
