Kate Middleton Throws Princess Diana’s Iconic Style With Festive Red Look at Christmas Carol Service

On Friday, December 6, Princess Kate Middleton, 42, stepped out solo to London’s Westminster Abbey. Dressed in a chic red peacoat with black velvet bow and pearl drop earrings, she sported brown hair loose waves. Her look reminded everyone of her in-laws’ late mother, Princess Diana, who wore an identical red Catherine Walker coat dress during her visit to Birmingham Airport in 1984 with King Charles III.

The Princess of Wales hosted her annual “Together at Christmas” church service, a tradition that helps bring reflection on love, compassion, and the strength of bonds in the darkest hours of life. It also celebrates individuals throughout the UK who have displayed outstanding kindness, empathy, and support towards their communities.

Before the service, Kate warmly welcomed guests who attended, such as Olivia Dean, Paloma Faith, and Richard E. Grant. She also wrote moving letters to guests earlier in the month to express her thoughts about the festive season.

“Christmas is one of my favorite times of the year,” she shared. It is a time to celebrate and rejoice but also presents us with the possibility of reflection on the deeper things that are common to everyone.”. It is only when we stop and take ourselves away from the pressures of daily life that we find the space to live our lives with an open heart, with love, kindness, and forgiveness — so much of what the Christmas spirit is all about.

Kate continued, “Love is the light that can shine bright, even in our darkest times. We all have something we can offer one another. Gentle words or a receptive ear, an arm around an exhausted shoulder, or silently being by someone’s side.”.

It was a poignant closure of a difficult year when the Princess made her public appearance. Even earlier this 2024, Kate was diagnosed with some form of cancer for which she underwent chemotherapy. She completed her treatment in September.

By the year’s beginning, there were many speculations about what had happened to the royal particularly through rumors and claims about manipulated photographs. News that cleared all this was actually about her health in March, but it also told of personal struggles she had this year.

Kate’s elegance and resilience during 2024 are indeed inspiring for many, as these hallmark her values of compassion and hope through her work.
