A deeply shocking case of child abuse has emerged in Milwaukee, where 20-year-old Jalin White stands accused of violently throwing his infant son against a wall in frustration after losing a video game. White, who has confessed to the act, faces serious charges, with the potential of homicide if the baby succumbs to his injuries, according to authorities.

Assistant District Attorney Madeline Witte stated, “The defendant has admitted to this incident. He was the only one with the ability and opportunity to inflict this harm.” The baby, only 8 months old, is currently hospitalized with life-threatening injuries.

Pattern of Abuse Revealed by Medical Examination

According to the police report, White was playing a video game while holding his son when he became enraged over a loss and hurled the child against a wall. White reportedly told detectives, “I heard the wall. It was hard on his head. It was loud.” The infant’s mother was not home at the time.

A medical evaluation revealed several injuries in different stages of healing, including a fractured clavicle and six broken ribs. The court commissioner noted, “This does not appear to be the first instance of abuse, as the injuries indicate multiple instances of trauma.”

Potential Homicide Charges Loom

Prosecutors have indicated that if the baby does not survive, the charges against White will be upgraded to homicide. “This is a severe level of violence inflicted on an innocent infant,” said Witte.

Currently, White faces up to 62 years in prison if convicted on child abuse charges. A homicide conviction could result in an even harsher sentence. The incident has sparked outrage and calls for greater awareness of child abuse and its devastating consequences.
