Aadhaar Card Themed Wedding Invitation Card Goes Viral

The unconventional design of a wedding invitation has taken the internet by storm, leaving recipients confused in the first place. Most of them mistook it to be an Aadhaar card, only to realize upon closer inspection that it was actually a wedding card.

Wedding cards with traditional religious motifs and designs are slowly shifting to creative innovative forms. One of the best examples of this trend has been the Aadhaar card-styled wedding card that has taken over social media circles by storm.

DK Sardana (@dksardana) posted on his ‘X’ (formerly known as Twitter) the unique card that closely resembles the Aadhaar card, with its overall design and even the writing style. However, it is noted that the words “Shubh Vivaah” or “auspicious wedding” replaced the term “Aadhaar”.

The bride and groom, Prahlad and Varsha, from Pipariya village in Madhya Pradesh, are prominently featured on the card. Instead of the usual Aadhaar number, the card lists their wedding date, June 22, 2017. Their photographs are followed by a QR code and a barcode, which adds to their creativity.

This is not the first instance of a wedding invitation capturing eyeballs for its style. Just a few days back, another card, resembling an Apple MacBook Pro laptop, captured eyeballs. Wedding cards, it seems, are getting more and more as tools to flaunt creativity nowadays. Some couples even opt for political themes or write in regional languages like Haryanvi.

Such creative wedding invitations depict the growing trend of personalization and humor in modern wedding celebrations. Whether it is an Aadhaar card or a gadget, these new cards are rewriting tradition and giving the special day an unforgettable feel.
