TPCC president Revanth Reddy stated that the success achieved by the Congress party is dedicated to the martyrs of Telangana. He expressed that the people of Telangana have delivered an excellent verdict and extended his gratitude to them. Speaking to the media at Gandhi Bhavan on Sunday in the wake of the Congress party’s victory, Revanth Reddy announced that, moving forward, the secretariat will be made accessible to common people, bringing administration closer to the general public.
Pragati Bhavan will be renamed Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Praja Bhavan. Pragati Bhavan is the property of the people, and it will be utilized for the people. Revanth Reddy commented that with the same spirit the Congress party provided democratic governance in the country from 2004 to 2014, they will move forward in Telangana. He stated that the government will uphold the six guarantees made to the people of Telangana and the promises given by Rahul Gandhi. He expressed gratitude to Rahul Gandhi for providing moral support whenever there was a problem.
Revanth Reddy expressed his intention to utilize this success for the development of the Telangana region and to assist the poor. He welcomed KTR’s congratulations on the Congress victory. Revanth Reddy emphasized that opposition parties should fully cooperate to form a new government, respecting the people’s decision, and extended invitations to all opposition parties for the government’s formation.
He mentioned the martyrdom of Srikanthachari on December 3, dedicating the current public verdict to him. Revanth Reddy stated that the people of Telangana have actively cooperated in restoring democracy. He acknowledged Rahul Gandhi’s inspiration through the Bharat Jodo Yatra and emphasized the Congress party’s leadership in protecting human rights. Revanth Reddy, along with CLP leader Bhatti Vikramarka and Shabbir Ali, pledged to lead the party collectively.
Revanth Reddy underlined that the people have determined the opposition’s role, and he recognized the perseverance of 30 lakh unemployed individuals in this victory. He dedicated the success to Telangana martyrs and expressed gratitude to Vijayashanti for her role in this achievement.
He expressed gratitude to Thakre for coordinating the internal affairs of the party, stating, “We will move forward with CPI and TJS. Rahul gave us the spirit through Bharat Jodo Yatra. Congress achieved victory with the cooperation of all the senior leaders. We hope that BRS will assist in the formation of the new government. People should be involved in the formation of the government. We hope BRS will cooperate in the new government. Everyone should respect the verdict of the people,” said Revanth Reddy.
He announced that the name of Pragati Bhavan is being changed and stated, “From here onwards, Pragati Bhavan will be renamed as Dr. Ambedkar Praja Bhavan. The gates of the Secretariat will always be open to the general public.”
Revanth Reddy emphasized the collective responsibility to fulfil the aspirations of the people and promised to implement the six guarantees given to them.
Rahul Gandhi has assured us that he will stand by us in any situation and has encouraged us to fight. With the support of Rahul Gandhi, myself, CLP Bhatti Vikramarka, and senior leaders such as V. Hanumantha Rao, Jana Reddy, Uttam Kumar Reddy, Komati Reddy Venkat Reddy, Damodara Raja Narasimha, Sridhar Reddy, and Madhu Yashki, we all united and achieved this victory today. Revanth Reddy mentioned that leaders like CPI leaders Chada Venkat Reddy and Aziz Pasha also made significant contributions.
In addition to the six guarantees given to the people of Telangana, we will also fulfil our promise on the issues mentioned by Rahul Gandhi, ensuring their legitimacy.
Beyond our natural allies, the CPI, which contested the elections with us, we will also consider the CPM, which did not contest the elections. We will accept suggestions and advice from Telangana Jana Samithi President Professor Kodandaram, who has provided full cooperation. Revanth Reddy commented that the government will also incorporate their ideas and move forward.
“Anyway, I have a suggestion for the BRS party. People gave a clear verdict. Who is the ruling party, who is the opposition… People have decided the role of the other parties, even in the opposition. Taking the mandate of the people as a message, we expect full cooperation from the BRS party in forming the government. We want the BRS party to join hands to restore the new tradition and democratic values in this Telangana state. We hope that the attempts made to damage democracy in the past will not happen again,” said Revanth Reddy.
