Medchal:
Anshul, a native of Gundlapochampally, had completed his B.Tech in Hyderabad before moving to the US to pursue a Master’s degree. After completing his studies, he secured a job with a private company and worked part-time as a pizza delivery executive at weekends to earn additional income.
According to his family, Anshul received an order to deliver a pizza to an isolated location late on Friday night. Two masked men carrying backpacks were reportedly seen in the area before the attack. The assailants allegedly opened fire, shooting him multiple times, including in the head. He died at the scene before medical assistance could reach him.
His family has raised suspicions that the delivery order may have been a trap, claiming that no valuables were stolen during the attack. They believe the absence of any apparent robbery points to a premeditated killing.
Anshul’s sister, Tanvi, said he had previously faced threats and had once been robbed of his chain, mobile phone and cash. However, she said he had never faced a life-threatening attack before.
The family has urged authorities to conduct a thorough investigation and identify those responsible for the killing. It has also sought assistance from the Indian authorities to expedite the repatriation of Anshul’s mortal remains.
Former diplomat Ambassador K.P. Fabian called for stronger support mechanisms for Indians living in the US, including a round-the-clock helpline and greater awareness of security risks among students and young professionals.
