PM Modi Set for Back-to-Back France, US Visits from Feb 10: MEA Confirms

The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) verified on Friday that PM Modi will embark on a major diplomatic trip to France and the United States starting on February 10 and ending on February 13. Following an official working trip to the United States from February 12 to 13, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri said the Prime Minister will first visit France from February 10 to 12.

France Visit: AI Summit and Strategy Bilateral Meetings

Foreign Secretary Misri said, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be in France from 10 February to 12 February 2025 at the request of French President Emmanuel Macron. This trip coincides with the Artificial Intelligence Summit, at which PM Emmanuel Macron will co-chair the AI Action Summit with President Macron. ”

PM Modi will arrive in Paris on February 10, attend a dinner at the Élysée Palace hosted by President Macron, and join top tech CEOs and international dignitaries. He will co-chair the AI Action Summit on February 11, therefore highlighting India’s growing part in worldwide AI management. Misri stressed, “After comparable events in the United Kingdom (2023) and South Korea (2024), this is the third high-level summit of this kind.”

India will be highlighting the ethical, responsible, and inclusive application of AI technologies at the AI Summit. The PM Modi and President Macron will also visit a CEO Forum and have high-level diplomatic meetings. Both heads will have a bilateral dinner in Marseille later that evening.

After visiting a war cemetery in Marseille and launching the new Indian consulate on February 12, the Prime Minister will travel to Washington.

US Visit: High Stakes Discussions with President Trump

PM Modi will leave France for Washington on February 12-13 for an official working visit. Scheduled to meet with US President Donald Trump, he will discuss vital matters including trade, defense partnerships, and economic cooperation. The trip coincides with current worldwide debates about American tariff and immigration policies.

PM Modi will also be at a state dinner thrown by President Trump, therefore becoming the second world leader—after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu—to meet Trump once he takes office.

Conference of Tesla CEO Elon Musk

PM Modi is planning to meet Tesla CEO Elon Musk during his US trip; Musk is currently very active in talks on India’s electric vehicle industry. Having previously shown interest in increasing Tesla’s market share in India, Musk has advised the Trump administration.

PM Modi’s consecutive diplomatic meetings in France and the US highlight India’s expanding global presence in technology, commerce, and strategic alliances.
