British pop band Coldplay, under lead singer Chris Martin, has really shocked the stage at Mumbai and Ahmedabad shows for their ‘Music of the Spheres’ tour. For their farewell, the boys planned a full performance on the very first Republic Day at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad, where they treated their fans with spectacular renditions of Vande Mataram and Maa Tujhhe Salaam.
In a touching gesture, Chris Martin sent Republic Day greetings to India while saying, “Salute to Mother India” and dedicating one song to cricketing sensation Jasprit Bumrah for the exploits on the cricket field.
This is a notable performance in the live entertainment scene of India. Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighted his country’s colossal potential to make it a leading global destination for live shows. He reminded everyone that an improvement in infrastructures and the development of local talent have to be a priority to embrace this emerging tide.
PM Modi made these comments during the inauguration of the Utkarsh Odisha – Make in Odisha Conclave 2025 at Janata Maidan. More than 7,500 delegates attended the event that flaunted Odisha’s industrial development and lured the biggies including Anil Agarwal, Kumar Mangalam Birla, and Naveen Jindal.
