Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu congratulated the new IDF Chief of Staff, Eyal Zamir, highlighting the strength of the military and its determination to win. At a ceremony to pass the baton, Netanyahu noted Israel’s military revival and preparedness for future wars.
Addressing the ceremony, Netanyahu spoke of his long acquaintance with the new Chief of Staff. “We have known each other for quite a few years, the time of the nightingale has come,” he stated with optimism regarding the new leadership.
Netanyahu emphasized having a powerful and robust army, asserting, “An Israeli military is a phrase that still cannot be taken for granted. In the years of revival, we are restoring a crown to its former glory. Today we have the ability to wage war with a vengeance, we have a state, we have an army, we have a chief of staff. The people want victory and will receive victory.”
Defense Minister Katz: ‘You Have No Time for Rest’
Defense Minister Israel Katz recognized the serious challenges for the IDF, expressing that the military has to engage on several fronts. “A complex mission when the IDF is forced to operate in 7 theaters over a long period of time. The ability to defend the State of Israel and its residents relies largely on offensive capabilities,” Katz explained.
He also stressed the importance of pre-emption in Israeli defense policy. “Whoever comes to kill you, kill him early. In fact, Eyal, you don’t have a single minute of peace. You will lead the IDF to a clear victory, against those who seek our harm.”
Security Challenges and Strategic Vision
The change in military command is timely for Israel, as tensions continue to be high in different parts of the world. With wars raging on multiple fronts, the new Chief of Staff must lead decisive campaigns to neutralize threats and secure the nation.
As Israel enters a new era under new military leadership, Netanyahu and Katz’s statements reaffirm the country’s commitment to military might, strategic defense, and ultimate victory over its adversaries.
