Strengthening India-Mauritius Relations

Welcoming Modi to the National Day celebrations, the Mauritius PM emphasized the strong ties between the two nations. He fondly recalled being invited to Modi’s first swearing-in ceremony as Prime Minister in 2014, adding,

“I am hopeful that you will invite me for the fourth swearing-in as well.”

PM Modi’s Connection with Mauritius

Earlier, PM Modi addressed the Indian community in Mauritius at a special event at the Trianon Convention Centre. He reminisced about his visit in 1998 for the International Ramayan Conference, highlighting the deep cultural and spiritual bonds between India and Mauritius.

“The same emotions were witnessed last year when Lord Ram Lalla’s Pran Pratistha was organized in Ayodhya. The Mauritius government even declared a half-day holiday,” Modi noted, underlining the shared heritage.

Enthusiastic Participation from Indian Diaspora

The event saw enthusiastic participation from various groups, including students, professionals, business leaders, and socio-cultural organizations. Several Mauritian Ministers, Members of Parliament, and dignitaries were also in attendance, marking the strong diplomatic engagement between the two nations.
