IAF Jaguar Fighter Jet Crashes in Haryana’s Panchkula, Pilot Ejects Safely

An Indian Air Force (IAF) Jaguar plane crashed in Haryana’s Ambala district on Friday in a routine training flight after a system failure. The pilot ejected safely and caused the plane to move away from inhabited areas before crashing, sparing lives on the ground.

“A Jaguar aircraft of the IAF crashed at Ambala, during a routine training sortie today, after encountering system malfunction. The pilot maneuvered the aircraft away from any habitation on ground, before ejecting safely. An inquiry has been ordered by the IAF, to ascertain the cause of the accident,” the IAF said in a social media update.

Recent Air Force Crashes Raise Concerns

This is the latest in a string of IAF aircraft crashes in the past few months. A Mirage 2000 fighter aircraft crashed last month in Madhya Pradesh’s Shivpuri while on a routine flight. The two pilots ejected safely, and a Court of Inquiry was instituted to find out what caused the accident.

Likewise, last year in November, an IAF MiG-29 fighter aircraft went into an uncontrollable flat spin before crashing in Uttar Pradesh’s Agra. The plane faced a system failure, and pilots safely ejected after moving the jet away from inhabited regions.

Ongoing Investigations Into Air Crashes

The IAF has initiated an investigation into the recent Jaguar crash to determine technical malfunction possibilities and enhance flight safety measures. With further crashes of fighter jets reported, authorities continue to be vigilant in enhancing aviation standards and maintaining pilot safety.
