The soaring price of eggs has become a focal point for Democrats attacking President Donald Trump just weeks into his second term. Critics argue the administration’s response to record-high prices has been inadequate, despite campaign promises to lower grocery costs.
According to Trading Economics, the cost of eggs has skyrocketed to a record US$6.55 per dozen. Representative Jasmine Crockett from Texas and other Democrats took to social media to denounce President Trump for his failure to address this issue. Critics pointed out that egg prices have increased by 40% since the Biden administration, adding another level of concern for families.
Trump has been president for 3 days and egg prices are at all time highs. TRUMP’S AMERICA!!!

The halting of the communication from the outside world by the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and other federal health agencies has been yet another step of criticism towards President Trump. It has happened during the country’s fight with the new avian flu, which broke out in 2022, killing over 30 million chickens—10% of the egg-laying population in just three months.
Egg prices hit record highs this week.
Much of the increase is the result of egg shortages brought on by avian flu.
How has Trump responded? By ordering public health agencies to cease communications with the public.
His presidency is a threat to our health and our wallets.

Minnesota Senator Amy Klobuchar quipped, “Golden eggs for you in the golden age,” referencing Trump’s inaugural speech that proclaimed the start of a “golden age.” Former Clinton cabinet member Robert Reich weighed in, “Trump’s presidency is a threat to health and wallets.”
With egg prices surging, the Trump administration comes under pressure to do something both about the economic and public health challenges affecting the country’s food supply.
