Speaking at India News Rajasthan’s Manch Jaipur, Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari said strong coordination between the Centre and the state had accelerated work in water, energy, infrastructure and employment. She said Prime Minister Modi had given the country a new direction over the past 12 years, while Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma was steering Rajasthan towards rapid growth and good governance.
Deputy Chief Minister Premchand Bairwa said a developed Rajasthan would play a crucial role in achieving the national goal of Viksit Bharat by 2047. He said the state government had set clear priorities after assuming office and was working to ensure that development benefits all sections of society. He said the Rising Rajasthan Summit had attracted investment proposals worth Rs 35 lakh crore, with projects worth nearly Rs 9 lakh crore moving towards implementation. He also claimed that 1.25 lakh youth had been provided employment and no paper leak had taken place during the present government’s tenure.
The Yamuna Water Agreement emerged as a central theme across the discussions. Diya Kumari described it as a historic breakthrough after three decades, saying it would improve drinking water availability, particularly in Shekhawati. Civil Lines MLA Gopal Sharma called it one of the biggest development milestones under Bhajan Lal Sharma’s leadership, saying it would strengthen drinking water supply, irrigation, agriculture, industry and urban growth. BJP state president Madan Rathore also said water was Rajasthan’s biggest challenge and claimed that the Yamuna agreement and PKC-ERCP project would significantly improve water availability.
Rathore said the study on implementing the Uniform Civil Code in Rajasthan had been completed and the government was preparing to bring a bill soon. He said the proposed law aimed to ensure equal rights and equal laws for all citizens. He also expressed confidence that the BJP would break Rajasthan’s long-standing trend of alternating governments and return to power in the next Assembly election.
State Finance Commission Chairman Arun Chaturvedi said Rajasthan was moving towards transparent governance and fiscal discipline. He accused the previous Congress government of leaving the state in a difficult financial position and said the present government was balancing development with economic responsibility. He also highlighted transparent recruitment, an employment calendar, improved law and order, district-specific budgeting and tourism-led growth.
Hawa Mahal MLA Balmukundacharya said preserving Jaipur’s Walled City heritage remained his top priority. He said the government was working on heritage conservation, women’s safety and inclusive development. Referring to complaints of harassment by girl students, he said police had been directed to act strictly against anti-social elements.
Former Rajasthan Women’s Commission chairperson Suman Sharma said women were not merely beneficiaries of welfare schemes but equal partners in India’s development journey. She credited the Modi government’s women-centric initiatives, including Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao, with improving education, dignity, safety and economic confidence among women.
Several speakers also attacked the Congress, accusing the previous government of poor governance, weak law and order, paper leaks and delayed development. BJP leaders said the present government’s focus on water, roads, energy, investment, jobs, tourism and welfare had placed Rajasthan on a faster growth path.
