With a stunning five-wicket victory against England, Australia swept into the Champions Trophy 2025, capping the greatest chase in ICC competition history. At Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, they continued to dominate their arch-enemy by chasing down a 352-run mark with 15 balls remaining.
England batted first to register a record 351/8, with Ben Duckett’s incredible 165 off 143 balls—the highest score in a single innings of the tournament. His effort led England to post the highest total in Champions Trophy history.

Australia’s Chase Led by Josh Inglis
Australia’s chase was driven by Josh Inglis, who hit a masterful unbeaten 106. His century saw Australia sail past Sri Lanka’s highest chase of 322 against India in 2017.
Record-Breaking Achievement
This pursuit was Australia’s second-highest successful ODI chase after their 359-run chase against India in 2013. It was also the second-best Pakistan chase, coming after Pakistan’s 355-run chase against South Africa this month.
England has a difficult path ahead of them, requiring them to win their remaining matches if they are to remain in the semifinal running.
This is a breaking story. Will update soon
