Atishi Missed Nomination Deadline Due to Roadshow, to File Papers Tomorrow

iDelhi Chief Minister Atishi, who was initially scheduled to file her nomination papers for the upcoming Assembly elections today, has postponed the process to tomorrow. Atishi missed the 3 pm deadline after accompanying Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Arvind Kejriwal to the Election Commission’s office to raise concerns over alleged voter list manipulation.

Atishi Leads Roadshow, Seeks Blessings

Before heading to file her nomination, Atishi visited the Giri Nagar Gurdwara in Kalkaji to seek blessings, followed by a visit to the Kalkaji Temple. Senior AAP leader Manish Sisodia accompanied her during these visits. Atishi, who represents the Kalkaji constituency in South Delhi, also led a roadshow in the area as part of her election campaign.

However, she had to make an unplanned visit to the Election Commission’s headquarters, where top AAP leaders gathered to highlight issues including alleged manipulation of voter lists. As a result, she was unable to reach the district magistrate’s office in time to file her nomination papers today.

Atishi has shared her day-plan on X today’s morning.

Facing Ramesh Bidhuri in Kalkaji Constituency

Atishi, who secured a win in Kalkaji by a margin of 11,000 votes in the previous elections, will be facing former BJP MP Ramesh Bidhuri in this year’s race. Bidhuri, who represented the South Delhi constituency in Parliament from 2014 to 2024, lost the general election this year but will be contesting against her in the assembly polls.

Atishi’s Crowdfunding Campaign Receives Overwhelming Support

Earlier, Atishi launched a crowdfunding campaign for her election campaign. In a post on X, she thanked her supporters, acknowledging their role in her journey as an MLA, minister, and now CM of Delhi. She appealed to her supporters to contribute to the campaign as she prepares for the elections.

Atish later updated her supporters, expressing gratitude for the overwhelming response to her crowdfunding initiative. She shared that over 335 contributors had donated more than 17 lakhs on the first day alone. Atishi described this response as a reflection of the people’s trust in the AAP’s clean, honest, and transformative politics.

As Atishi prepares to file her nomination tomorrow, the overwhelming support from her constituency and contributors will likely play a significant role in her election campaign for the Kalkaji constituency.
