The Central Equestrian Team from the Primary Training Centre in Bhanu, Panchkula, Haryana, represented the Indo-Tibetan Border Police Force at the 42nd All India Police Equestrian Championship and Mounted Police Duty Meet-2023-24 (AIPEC & MPDM) held from December 26, 2023, to January 5, 2024, at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy, Hyderabad. The event featured 22 teams with over 300 horses, including participants from organisations like Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy, BSF, SSB, Assam Rifles, and various state police forces.
Under the guidance of the Inspector General at the Primary Training Center Bhanu, the Central Equestrian Team from the Indo-Tibetan Border Police Force, trained at Bhanu, achieved remarkable success. Led by Dr. Prakash Kumar Jaina, Second Command (VAT), the team secured the first position for the third consecutive time, winning 13 gold medals, 4 silver medals, 1 bronze medal, and 11 trophies in various events. The winning officers and their respective medals include Dr. Raveshwar Singh Rana, Dr. Amit Chhetri, Dr. Prakash Kumar Jena, Suni Jaswinder Singh, Suni Satpal, Head Constable Jitendra, Head Constable Servais, Constable Ajit Singh, Constable Bahuri Sai Teja, Constable Jatin Abraham, Constable Sagar, Constable Vikas, Constable Ajit, Constable Lalit, Constable Ajay, and Constable Sagar Tomar.
Upon their return to the Primary Training Center Bhanu, the victorious team was warmly welcomed by Shri Anand Pal Nimbadia, Inspector General, along with all the officials, accompanied by the melodious tunes of the band.
The Inspector General at the Primary Training Center highlighted that the championship, organised under the All India Police Sports Control Board, serves as a significant platform for Central Armed Police Forces and State Police Forces to showcase their sporting skills. The event encourages police horsemen in various riding competitions and provides a national platform for horse riding championships. Winning this championship for the third consecutive time is a source of pride for the Indo-Tibetan Border Police Force, reflecting the dedication and hard work in training both veterinarians and horses at the institute.
