Three MPs elected from Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan in the eighteenth Lok Sabha can create potential challenges for the opposition in the coming days. Among them are Chandrashekhar Azad of Azad Samaj Party who won the election from Nagina, Rajkumar Roat of Bharat Adivasi Party who won the election from Rajasthan and Hanuman Beniwal of RLP. Azad reached the Lok Sabha by fighting the election independently on his own. The other two MPs were supported by Congress so that BJP could be defeated. If these leaders form an alliance, then Congress and then Samajwadi Party will be the biggest losers. Their alliance may benefit BJP, because their vote bank is considered to be the traditional vote bank of Samajwadi Party and Congress. Azad is going to be a big challenge for the opposition in future elections, especially in Uttar Pradesh.
If these three form an alliance, they can influence the politics of Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh. Just like Mayawati’s party BSP has been doing so far. Congress and SP have made a big mistake by not including Azad in the Indy alliance in the Lok Sabha elections. Although these parties had assured him that they will not field a candidate against him, but at the last moment they fielded a candidate against him. Even after this, Azad won the election with the help of Dalit and Muslim votes in a triangular contest. Chandrashekhar Azad’s victory is not a good sign for the Samajwadi Party, because Azad will make a dent in the Dalit and Muslim votes among the voters on whose trust SP is doing politics. SP is doing the politics of alliance of backward, Dalits and minorities, which means PDA. Mayawati has always kept an eye on this PDA and a new contender Azad has come. Seeing the increasing popularity of Azad, BSP leader Mayawati has again handed over the command of the party to her nephew Akash Anand. Akash and Azad are both young and the tone of their speeches is the same.
Azad, Rajkumar Roat and Beniwal have become leaders by doing caste politics. These three leaders may be with the India Alliance right now, but they can separate anytime. All three have won the elections on the election symbol of their respective parties. Among them, Azad is busy establishing himself as a Dalit leader in place of Mayawati in Uttar Pradesh and the entire country. Beniwal openly does Jat politics. Rajkumar is a tribal leader. Roat had formed the Bharat Adivasi Party last year in 2023. He won the MLA election for the second time and has now become an MP. In a short time, he got everything that no one gets in politics after years. Rajkumar’s party demands a separate Bhil state by combining the tribal districts of Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan. In fact, Congress supported Rajkumar Roat in the tribal belt seat Dungarpur-Banswara to defeat BJP candidate Mahendrajit Singh Malviya. Malviya lost, but Rajkumar became a leader in the tribal belt.
In the tribal area once considered to be Congress’s stronghold, now the claim of Bharat Adivasi Party has become strong. Similarly, Hanuman Beniwal is busy establishing himself as a Jat leader. In the assembly elections held last year, he contested the assembly elections in alliance with Chandrashekhar Azad’s party. Although he did not benefit much, but Congress definitely suffered losses on some seats. If these three leaders form their own front in Rajasthan, then Congress will suffer the most loss and will affect some seats in states like Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat. All three have got a platform like Lok Sabha.
Chandrashekhar Azad of Azad Samaj Party gave a signal on the day of oath that he has come to do politics of Dalits and backward classes. In the year 1989, Mayawati also reached the Parliament for the first time by winning the election alone. After that, she made her own identity by doing politics vigorously for three decades. Chandrashekhar is also walking on the same path. After winning the Lok Sabha elections, he has become very popular among Dalits and Muslims in West Uttar Pradesh. Most of the hoardings congratulating him on his victory are of Azad. Amidst the noise of the Parliament, all three leaders are trying to understand the situation. Beniwal has been an MP earlier, but was weakened due to being alone. Then he became an MP with the help of Congress. He does not stay with anyone for long. Now he has got two allies. He has formed an alliance with Azad’s party.
Beniwal knows the equation of Dalit, Jat and tribal voters very well. He has already started showing his eyes to Congress in Rajasthan. All three leaders are ambitious. Azad knows that SP will not let him move ahead. That is why he has started expanding the party in Uttar Pradesh. He has especially targeted West Uttar Pradesh. He is wooing backward classes, Dalits and Muslims. His eyes are on the Uttar Pradesh elections to be held after two and a half years. They have enough time to prepare themselves. Azad, Beniwal and Roat have said that they will decide when the time comes. In the coming days, all eyes will be on these three leaders.
