Dharmendra Pratap Singh, a 48-year-old resident of Narharpur Kasiyahi village in Pratapgarh district, Uttar Pradesh, stands at an impressive height of 8 feet 2 inches. His extraordinary stature earned him recognition in the Guinness World Records and The Limca Book of World Records in 2007. However, despite his fame, Singh faces significant challenges due to his height, struggling to find employment and receive marriage proposals.
Embracing Solitude
Having lost hope for marriage, Dharmendra has learned to find happiness in his solitude. During a recent local event in Rewa, he spoke with the media about not only his challenges in life but also his health issues.
Health Struggles After an Accident
In 2013, Singh was involved in a car accident that resulted in surgery and left him in persistent pain. Despite his struggles, he sought help from KD Hospital in Ahmedabad after learning about it on social media. On August 23, he reached out to the hospital and, just two days later, traveled to Ahmedabad for bilateral hip replacement surgery.
Unique Source of Income
To support his family, which includes two sisters and brothers, Dharmendra often travels to Mumbai or Delhi. There, he allows people to take photos with him for a fee, providing a unique source of income. He expressed that his height makes him distinctive, as many people enjoy taking pictures with him, and he often receives invitations to various events.
A Positive Outlook
Singh views his height as an asset rather than a burden. He believes it has shaped his identity and does not let the absence of a marriage partner affect his happiness. He stated, “Even if I do not find someone to marry, it would never bother me, as my height is my new identity.”
Political Aspirations
In addition to his personal journey, Dharmendra has ventured into politics with the Samajwadi Party, expressing his ambition to elevate the party to new height.
