A hand functions through the cooperation of all five fingers, working together. Yet, each finger is totally different from the other. They are all fingers, but not of the same size or thickness, and each one has a different and important reason for being in the position that they are in. They each have a unique job to do. Imagine the situation if each finger objected to the role of the others, and refused to cooperate because they did not like the differences that existed.

It sounds comical, and yet the disunity that the world is facing is not so dissimilar. The unity that families are wishing for, local communities are striving for, and nations are ostensibly endeavouring to provide, across frontiers, is not possible unless there can be an abandonment of ego and an understanding of truth.
Each one of us is here with a unique role to play on Earth. Each one of us has a speciality, that when exercised with love and cooperation, can bring about harmony. When each soul returns to its natural state of truth, it will gain enough strength to embrace our intrinsic nature of love. There is no power greater than the power of love. With the dissolving of ego through the power of spiritual love, all can move into a state of empathy. There will be an acceptance and appreciation of the differences we all have, and we will value the contribution of each one.

Meditation becomes the means to unify in all forms, from ideas to relationships to working in teams. It enables a simple process of spiritual understanding and love in action. Meditation is not a difficult thing to do. It is simply thinking the right way up instead of thinking in the upside-down way that we have all become accustomed to. It only takes a few minutes of the day, especially before the day truly begins. The benefits of learning how to connect with the Supreme source of all love, peace, and harmony are immeasurable. Each soul has a right to that connection and to all the power and light of understanding it affords. It is this that brings about unity within the soul. A soul with inner harmony is one who can bring unity to so many situations. With enough souls like that in our world, what is not possible?
