The Electric State: New Trailer for Netflix’s Post-Apocalyptic Sci-Fi Adventure

A post-apocalyptic world destroyed by a horrific struggle between humans and robots is explored by Chris Pratt and Millie Bobby Brown in the most recent teaser for Netflix’s upcoming science fiction movie, The Electric State. ​The movie is by Anthony and Joe Russo and hits theatres on March 14, 2025

The plot, in the 1990s setting, revolves around Millie Brown‘s character, a teenager, who with the help of her robot friend tries to find her missing young brother. Along the way, they are joined by a wanderer, played by Chris Pratt, on a hazardous journey across a chaotic planet left in disarray by the fight between robots and humans

The movie also features an all-star cast that includes Stanley Tucci, Giancarlo Esposito, Woody Norman, Jason Alexander, and Ke Huy Quan. ​Woody Harrelson, Anthony Mackie, Brian Cox, Jenny Slate, Hank Azaria, Colman Domingo, and Alan Tudyk also lend voice to the film. In a preview of the movie, Brown’s character comments on the devastation caused by the rebellion, “Right now, all of us have something in common. We all lost something after the rebellion. Robots lost their freedom. Humans lost connection with each other. And I lost everyone I loved – or so I though.”

The Electric State, an adaptation of Simon Stalenhag’s 2018 book, is directed by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely. Additionally, Mike Larocca, Angela Russo-Otstot, Chris Castaldi, and Patrick Newall are credited as producers in this film.
