The General Secretary of the All India Congress Committee, member of the National Congress Working Committee, and former Union Minister, Kumari Selja said that Chief Minister Manohar Lal’s public conversation program has ultimately proven to be a gimmick to mislead the public. The purpose of the public conversation program is neither to listen and resolve people’s complaints and problems nor to provide any relief to the public in any way. Only a show is made during the public conversation program by having people write their complaints on paper, but no attention is paid to their resolution.
The reality of the public conversation program is being exposed by the pending complaints of the Urban Local Bodies department in front of everyone. In a statement released to the media, Kumari Selja said that a total of 1694 complaints related to the Urban Local Bodies department were received during the public conversation program. So far, the resolution of only 1532 complaints has been possible. This indicates how serious the state government is about the public conversation. The way the Chief Minister’s attitude has been observed during the public conversations shows that they have become authoritarian. They have no concern for the problems of the people. The former Union Minister said that a Chief Minister who did not remember the people for a full 8 and a half years is now pretending to be in the field in the name of a public conversation.
Selja said that the situation has turned against the BJP government, and the people have understood the difference between the BJP government’s words and actions. Instead of reaching the districts to reduce the people’s troubles, the Chief Minister came to give them more trouble. Whenever they encountered people in distress, instead of empathizing, they seemed happy; rather than understanding the people’s problems, they were made fun of.
Kumari Selja said that the BJP-JJP alliance government has lost its public support. The state government’s public connection has completely vanished. Due to anti-people policies, people have turned their backs on the government, and the Chief Minister, like a tourist, only came to see how people manage despite the troubles caused by his government.
The former Union Minister said that the wounds inflicted by Chief Minister Manohar Lal on the people of the state for the last 9 years will not be forgotten by the people for their entire lives.
