With the objective to spread autism awareness and encourage inclusion Dhoomimal Art Gallery along with AUtypical undertook joint initiative in the sphere of art under the aegis of 31st Ravi Jain Memorial Foundation Awards for upcoming artists. Autistic art was integrated and presented in the professional grade. This culminated with a charity art auction ‘Colours of Joy’. The auction proceeds from the works of the Autypical artist will go directly to the artists.
Uday Jain Director Dhoomimal Gallery said, “We propose to take the art of the autistic community to the Outside Art Fair in Paris and New York. We believe that such showcasing of abilities will change the conversation around autism and mainstream members of the community to a life of dignity and social wellbeing. We were delighted to see the overwhelming response that AuTypical artists received at our recently conducted charity art auction ‘Colours of Joy’. We aim to include these artists more and more in our exhibitions and words of encouragement for this endeavor have stirred our sensibilities with a promise to take this forward effectively and constructively”.
Dhoomimal Gallery (DMG) has launched many artists who went onto become big names in the field of art in India & overseas. Dr Rashmi Das, Chairperson, AuTypical.in said, “An ambitious milestone has been achieved for Autistic Artists. We thank Dhoomimal Gallery for the leap of faith they took in showcasing Autistic Art alongside the works of Iconic Masters for sales in a charity auction. It was a great success as all lots of autistic art got sold, averaging about Rs 55,000 per artwork. Sale proceeds will go to the artists in full. Autypical will relentlessly continue to spearhead and champion the inclusion of Autistic Artists in Professional-grade Fine Arts, helping them find buyers and shaping their vocational identities. We are highly encouraged by the response beginning with the 31st Ravi Jain Memorial Exhibition & Awards and finally culminating in a successful auction. The prevalence of autism is growing, and we believe that enlightened actions by private entities and individuals are the need of the hour. We look forward to a deepening engagement with Dhoomimal Gallery for serving the autistic community; their innovative embrace of the cause is truly uplifting.”
