In a tragic incident, at least 25 students lost their lives when a school bus carrying 44 children caught fire in Thailand’s Khu Khot region, near the Zeer Rangsit shopping mall. The bus, part of an educational trip with six teachers onboard, was traveling from Uthai Thani province, about 250 km from Bangkok, when the fire broke out around 12:30 PM local time.

Authorities have not yet determined the cause of the fire, and many more deaths are feared. Sixteen students and three teachers have been admitted to a hospital, but the total number of casualties remains uncertain.

Thailand’s Prime Minister, Paetongtarn Shinawatra, offered condolences to the victims’ families as the investigation continues. Transport Minister Suriya Juangroongruangkit confirmed that a thorough inquiry is underway to uncover the cause of the tragic accident. This devastating event has sent shockwaves through the country, raising concerns over safety regulations for school transportation.
