Senior Shiromani Akali Dal leader Bikram Singh Majithia’s house was inspected by the terrorists who were arrested in Punjab a couple of months ago.
According to inputs received by the Intelligence Wing of Punjab Police, the residence of Majithia in Amritsar was scouted at the behest of sitting chief of Khalistan Tigers Force in Canada, Harjit Singh Nijjar. This came to light when Punjab Police arrested the terrorists associated with KTF in Tarn Taran in October and interrogated them.
Tiffin bombs and grenades were recovered from the accused. In order to find out the time of Majithia’s movements, two of the accused called Majithia’s PA, met him and asked him to set up a meet with Majithia, said official sources.
Majithia, too, had accused the Punjab police of hushing up the matter. He alleged that Punjab police hatched a conspiracy against him and terrorists sitting abroad were behind the conspiracy.
While speaking to The Daily Guardian, Majithia said that he was said that the extremists had planted a story to meet him giving an excuse of giving important information in the Bargadi case. According to the information of the Intelligence Wing, after the reconnaissance, the accused were working on alternative arrangements but were arrested with a tiffin bomb, hand grenade and 9 mm pistol.
During interrogation, the accused told the police that they used to get instructions from Arshdeep Dalla in Canada, who is close to Khalistan Tiger force chief Harjit Singh Nijjar. According to the police, Arshdeep plays a major role to incite and recruit Punjab’s youth to carry out terrorist activities.
According to the information, the intelligence wing started the probe in October. It should be noted that Majithia was earlier one of the people with Z+ security cover, but it was removed after the Shiromani Akali Dal decided to break the alliance with the BJP due to agricultural laws.
