A couple from Pennsylvania, who divorced nearly 50 years ago, is planning to remarry. Fay Gable and Robert Wenrich first met when he was her older brother’s best friend, and he often mentioned he would marry her one day. They tied the knot in November 1951 and had four children together. However, they divorced in 1975, citing reasons they prefer not to discuss.

Both remarried later in life and remained with their new spouses for many years until they passed away. Despite this, family members say Gable and Wenrich maintained a strong bond, attending family events together over the years. Recently, they decided it was time to marry again.

“They’re like two teenagers in love. They do everything together,” said Carol Smith, their youngest daughter. She also shared her father’s sentiment, quoting him: “She was the first love of my life. I never thought I’d get her back. And now that I did, I’m not wasting any time.”

Wenrich, now 94, and Gable, 89, are surrounded by a large family—14 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and twin great-great-grandchildren. Gable also has two stepsons, all of whom will attend their wedding in Denver, Pennsylvania, this Sunday.

Wenrich, reflecting on the future, remarked, “I think we’ll be good now for the next couple years.”
