In a recent incident following the fatal Porsche crash in Pune that claimed the lives of two IT professionals, a 17-year-old boy was caught driving a BMW without a license on the busy streets of Kalyan. Videos of this dangerous stunt, showing a man on the car’s bonnet, went viral, leading the police to take action.
Authorities have arrested the man on the car bonnet, Subham Mithila, and have also booked the 17-year-old driver and his father, a retired government official and the car’s owner, an official reported on Monday.
The teenager was seen driving the BMW on Saturday in the bustling Shivaji Chowk area of Kalyan city, Thane district.
Senior police inspector Suresh Gund stated, “The teenager was inspired by social media reels and made his father buy the second-hand BMW car for Rs 5 lakh, and drove it on the street without a driving license.” The father has since been served with a notice.
This follows the tragic incident in Pune where two IT professionals lost their lives when their motorcycle was struck by a speeding Porsche allegedly driven by an intoxicated minor in the early hours of May 19 in Kalyani Nagar.
