Bryan Johnson, a 46-year-old software millionaire focused on reversing his biological age, recently shared his remarkable posture improvement journey on social media. After an MRI revealed what he described as a “ticking time bomb of a problem,” Johnson learned his poor posture was affecting his brain health. “I didn’t realise how terrible my posture was until an MRI showed it was slowly killing my brain,” he tweeted.
According to Johnson, the MRI indicated that his posture was impeding blood flow from his brain to his heart, posing risks like seizures or strokes. “Our posture norms are pretty bad,” he said, highlighting how daily habits like slouching in chairs and looking down at screens can lead to several health complications, from circulation and musculoskeletal issues to mood changes, stress, and sleep disruptions.
Johnson shared five habits that helped him achieve better posture. First, he recommended a mental exercise to encourage sitting upright. He also advised holding phones at eye level to avoid bending the head. Additionally, Johnson emphasized moving every 30 minutes to reset posture, suggesting activities like walking or dancing to boost blood flow.
My team and I went on Red Alert.
We discovered through an MRI that my posture was trapping blood in my brain, blocking it from flowing properly to my heart.

He also recommended two exercises to strengthen posture-supporting muscles, cautioning that some initial soreness is normal and indicative of progress. Johnson noted that improving posture has become a significant part of his wellness journey, stating, “Posture carries a profound psychological weight. When you stand tall, you exude confidence and self-acceptance.”
Johnson also mentioned his family’s habit of making a “zzzzzip” sound when someone slouches, creating a light-hearted reminder to sit up straight.
Known for his anti-ageing quest, Johnson spends $2 million annually on diagnostics and health routines. Recently, he claimed to reverse male pattern baldness and restore his hair color and also underwent a “total plasma” exchange to remove bodily toxins.
