India Yamaha Motor (IYM) Pvt. Ltd. has introduced a ‘Metallic Black’ shade on its XSR 155 motorcycle, taking the count of the XSR 155 colours now to five.
Eagle-eyed readers might remember my launch story of the motorcycle in November where I had mentioned that I was disappointed to see that there’s no “Matte Black” in the colour options, I had also said that I hope Yamaha would add it soon. Well, it seems that I wasn’t the only one requesting Yamaha for a Black XSR 155.
However, in doing so, the company has quietly increased the price of the motorcycle. Or you can say that the introductory price of Rs. 1,49,990 for all colours is no more applicable now. NO, WAIT! The price of the Metallic Blue motorcycle with golden USD fork is still showing as Rs. 1,49,990 on their website! Please note that all prices mentioned in this story are ex-showroom, PAN India.
The Metallic Black XSR 155 has been priced at Rs. 1,50,990 and it’s the only other colour for now (in addition to the Metallic Blue) to get the golden USD fork. The Metallic Grey XSR 155 will cost you Rs. 1,56,990 and that’s the shade I have been seeing the most on road lately. Greyish Green Metallic was the colour of my test bike and it costs the same as the latest Metallic Black, i.e., Rs. 1,50,990. Vivid Red is the second most affordable colour, and the XSR in that shade will be yours for Rs. 1,52,990.
So how about a Solid White now, Yamaha?
