Google has finally launched its much-awaited Pixel 10 series, and the center of attention is the Pixel 10 Pro 5G, a phone that promises to revolutionize the flagship segment with new design, improved display, intelligent AI integration, and the latest TSMC-made Tensor G5 processor. At ₹1,09,999, the phone is up there with the crème de la crème of Android phones available in the market. But does it justify its "Pro" label? Let's take a first look.
The Pixel 10 Pro 5G follows in the footsteps of its predecessor in terms of design while infusing it with a contemporary touch. Weighing 207 grams, it is slightly heavier but still has a compact and premium feel. The matte-finish back panel combined with a glossy aluminium frame gives it an elegant yet robust appearance.
Coming in Moonstone, Jade, Porcelain, and Obsidian, the phone features a new colour palette. The matte-finish Porcelain model is the standout option, though the new Moonstone and Jade variants provide it with some much-needed style. By and large, Google's design coherence makes the Pixel 10 Pro one of the 2025 flagship devices that looks best.
One of the best features of the Pixel 10 Pro 5G is its 6.3-inch Super Actua OLED display. It carries a 120Hz refresh rate and up to 3300 nits peak brightness, rendering clear details, deep colours, and silky smooth performance.
The Pixel's display appears brighter and truer to colour compared to competitors such as the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra. Initial outdoor visibility also looks good, but sustained usage in bright sunlight over an extended period will tell.
The Pixel 10 Pro 5G's hallmark has always been its cameras, and this device does not fall short. A 50MP primary sensor, 48MP ultra-wide-angle camera, and 48MP telephoto lens with 5x optical zoom make the phone guarantee sharp, rich, and clear shots.
Addition of AI-driven optimizations further enhances clarity, particularly in low-light and zoom images. Although the portrait mode provides natural bokeh in the background and improved edge detection, it lacks flexibility with options of only 1x, 2x, and 3x zoom.
Surprisingly, the new ProRes Zoom feature provides digital zoom of up to 100x courtesy of AI algorithms, providing quite an improvement in flexibility for photography buffs.
At the center of the device is Tensor G5 chip, developed using TSMC's latest process. Coupled with a maximum of 16GB RAM, Pixel 10 Pro performs multitasking, media editing, and light gaming without the slightest issue.
Where it really excels is in AI. With Gemini AI integrated into it, the phone provides real-time support on Google Workspace. The phone is not only a smartphone but also an AI-based productivity tool with capabilities such as Gemini Live screen-sharing, voice commands, and context-aware suggestions.
Pixel 10 Pro features a 4,870mAh battery, which is marginally smaller compared to the regular Pixel 10. But in actual usage, it really lasts for more than a day with average to heavy use and provides 24+ hours of usage on a single charge.
The catch is that its 30W wired charging technology is somehow not up to mark compared to other flagships that support faster charging.
The Google Pixel 10 Pro 5G is just so stylish, offering the best AI features, sound performance, and camera flexibility. Though slower charging and a restricted zoom on portrait mode are disappointments, overall the package strongly deserves the "Pro" moniker.
