The camera’s ISO reaches 12,800, while color recording modes max out at ISO 3200.
DJI has introduced the Mini 5 Pro, a major upgrade to its compact drone lineup, featuring a larger image sensor, a stronger gimbal, longer battery life, and enhanced obstacle detection. The drone weighs 249.9 grams, staying under the 250-gram mark that avoids licensing in many countries.
The Mini 5 Pro carries a new 50-megapixel Type 1 image sensor. This is a big step up from the Mini 4 Pro’s smaller 1/1.3 CMOS sensor. With the larger sensor, users can expect sharper photos and better videos. The camera also features a new 48mm “Med-Tele” mode, giving clearer zoom performance.
DJI has added portrait optimization, which improves brightness, contrast, and skin tones in portrait shots.
The Mini 5 Pro records 4K video at 60 fps with HDR and up to 14 stops of dynamic range, and it also supports slow-motion 4K at 120 fps. Comes with D-Log M and HLG color modes, the drone records in 10-bit video using H.265 encoding.
The camera’s ISO reaches 12,800, while color recording modes max out at ISO 3200. These upgrades ensure better low-light performance for both photographers and videographers.
DJI has upgraded the gimbal to allow wide roll rotation up to 225°. The gimbal now enables true vertical shooting instead of just cropping. This helps creators shoot more dynamic content.
It also supports QuickShot Rotate, making rotating shots easier. With ActiveTrack 360°, the drone tracks subjects more smoothly using advanced detection technology.
The Mini 5 Pro includes forward-facing LiDAR and multiple vision sensors. DJI calls this feature “nightscape” omnidirectional obstacle sensing. It helps avoid obstacles even in low light, making flying safer. The drone also offers improved return-to-home features for added safety.
Longer Flight Time and Altitude
The new battery increases flight time from 36 minutes to 52 minutes. Maximum takeoff altitude has also improved, rising from 4,000 meters to 6,000 meters. This makes it more useful for mountain flights and long aerial shoots.
The DJI Mini 5 Pro has been launched globally, but its official price and availability in India have not yet been confirmed by DJI. In Europe, the drone is priced at €799 for the base version.
