Aniruddin Ansari, a school teacher was arrested from West Bengal’s Howrah for allegedly sheltering Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) terrorists. The accused school teacher was arrested by the Special Task Force (STF) of the state police.
Allegedly, the arrested school teacher gave shelter to 2 JMB militants in his house. Along with him, STF also arrested 2 JMB terrorists. It is learned that the arrested Aniruddin Ansari is a resident of Purulia. He used to rent a house in Munsidanga of Bankra, and is accused of harboring two JMB militants in the same house. The incident has caused a stir in the area since it is for the first time that Purulia has come up in the JMB Network.
As a result, investigators are naturally worried about the JMB Network in Purulia. Since when did that teacher give shelter to the militants? What other support has he given to militant activities? What was the plan of the militants? Authorities are probing in full swing to gather vital insights.
At present, two groups of JMB militants are active— the Old JMB and the New JMB. Investigating officers now want to know which group the detainees belong to. Police are interrogating the arrested school teacher and are trying to unearth as to whether any other modules of the militant group are active in Howrah.
