Khera had also showed some images of documents that purportedly showed properties in her name in the UAE and a company registered in Wyoming, United States, which he claimed were not disclosed in Sarma’s affidavit.

The petitioner seeks that in the event of his arrest he may be released on bail.

The anticipatory bail petition has been filed in Hyderabad, wherein Khera, as per reports, has a residence.

According to Congress sources, matter has been listed for hearing tomorrow.

Khera is the Chairman, Media & Publicity Department of the Congress party and is also a member of the Congress Working Committee.

On Tuesday, Assam police reportedly had also reached Hyderabad, Telangana looking for Khera after carrying out searches at his residence in south Delhi’s upscale East Nizamuddin area.

Khera, meanwhile issued a video statement and targeted the Assam Chief Minister for sending police at his residence when he was not at home and also seizing his old laptop and the old mobile phone his sister.

He mentioned that Congress is not going to bow down under such tactics and also hit back at Sarma for the kind of language he used against Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, who is having more than five decades of experience in politics.

He also put forth new allegations against Sarma’s wife and gave more details about the company and its address.

Even Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra came out in support of Khera and in a post on X said, “The shameless attack on Congress leader Pawan Khera by the BJP only speaks of their arrogance and guilt.”

She said, “Every Congress person, indeed every Indian who believes in our constitution and understands that raising questions and challenging power is the basis of a strong democracy stands by him as his home is ransacked and he is hunted down by a Chief Minister who has lost his moral right to govern.”
