Victim Sajjad Ali among Indian youths allegedly trafficked, assaulted, and forced into labour at an undisclosed foreign location.

A distraught mother from Hyderabad has made an emotional appeal to the Indian government to rescue her son, Sajjad Ali, andseveral other Indian youths who were allegedly lured to Thailand with promises of employment, only to be trafficked to another country and forced into labour under life-threatening conditions.

Speaking to News X, Sajjad Ali’s mother recounted the terrifying ordeal her family has endured over the past six months. She said her son left home during Muharram, claiming he had secured a job abroad. “For the first one-and-a-half months, we were in regular contact, and everything seemed normal,” she said. However, communication suddenly stopped. “After that, he didn’t call or message. We couldn’t reach him at all. We were extremely worried because he would normally contact us even for small matters,” she added.

Two months later, Sajjad reportedly managed to call his family, revealing shocking details. “He told me, ‘Mummy, we are in serious trouble. The army came, took away our bags and phones, and moved us to another country. We don’t even know which country we are in,’” she recalled.

According to the mother, the group was promised job visas for Thailand but was instead blindfolded and transported to an undisclosed foreign location. There, they are allegedly being forced to work under coercion and constant surveillance.

She further alleged that her son was brutally assaulted when he refused to work. “They beat him with rods on his hands, legs, and near his eyes. His eye was swollen and filled with blood. He could barely speak to me because of the pain,” she said, breaking down.

The mother stated that Sajjad later contacted her again after his condition slightly improved and pleaded for help. “They are being threatened with death if they fail to meet work targets. My son is terrified. All the boys are living in fear,” she said.

Making a direct appeal, she urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi to intervene immediately. “Please rescue my son Sajjad Ali and the other innocent boys who have been deceived and trafficked. Bring them home safely,” she pleaded.

Authorities are yet to issue an official statement. Meanwhile, families of the victims continue to seek urgent diplomatic intervention for their safe return.
