Way back in the month of April, Aam Aadmi Party was targetted by opposition on increasing crime graph in the state as there were 19 murders in 21 just days. The graph is steadily rising high from then.
From last week, news of a 20-year-old boy Harman from Kotbhai killed by kidnappers demanding ransom of Rs 30 lakh shook everyone around. Later police revealed that the boy was killed on 25 November but kidnappers kept asking for Ransom money.
Congress Senior Leader Sukhpal Singh Khaira lambasted the ruling government and said, “There is total chaos in the Law and Order situation in Punjab. These jokers can not handle Punjab. People are losing their loved ones’ precious lives to Gangsters. Punjab has lost trust in this government. This figure nearing the 200 mark is terrible. Is this what Badlav Mann speaks about?”, he said.
On 17 December evening, from Faridkot, a young 30 year old man Sukhveer Singh was found dead inside Sirhind Canal with a silted throat. Sukhveer Singh got married last month. With Sukhveer Singh, the data of targetted killing, murders, suspicious deaths touched the figure 200 approximately in the state since April.
On 7 December, Nakodar, Jalandhar based cloth Merchant Timmy Chawla was shot dead. Later police claimed to have arrested the culprits.
