Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin and party members paid floral tribute to Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) founder and former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Annadurai, on his 116th birth anniversary on Sunday. Annadurai, who passed away in 1969, served as the first Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu.

Chief Minister Stalin, who recently returned from the US, announced on Saturday that 19 Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) worth Rs 7,618 crore were signed during his visit. These MoUs are expected to create 11,516 jobs in the state.

In a notable development, Ford Motor Company will restart operations at its previously closed manufacturing plant in Tamil Nadu. This decision comes after several high-level discussions between Ford and the Tamil Nadu government, including a recent meeting between Ford’s representative and Stalin during his US visit.

The state government has also secured an investment of Rs 2,000 crore in Tiruchirapalli, which is projected to create approximately 5,000 jobs in the district. Additionally, an MoU was signed between RGBSI and the Tamil Nadu government to establish an advanced electronics and telematics manufacturing unit in Hosur, with an investment of Rs 100 crore.

Chief Minister Stalin met with top executives from several global companies during his visit, encouraging them to invest in Tamil Nadu. Rockwell Automation, an industrial automation company, will expand its manufacturing operations in Kanchipuram with an investment of Rs 666 crore, creating around 365 jobs.
