Bollywood actress Taapsee Pannu, who played Manu in Rajkumar Hirani’s latest film “Dunki,” revealed an amusing incident regarding how she got cast in the film. Taapsee revealed the unexpected turn of events that occurred during her first phone call to “Dunki.”

Taapsee humorously shared, “Actually, thoda funny hai mere liye bhi kyunki Dunki ka call jo pehla aya tha wo Raju Sir ka hi aya tha, but usey pehle kaafi jagah aa chuka tha, I am being considered for this film, and I am doing this film, and just like any other rumour, maine kaha ye toh possible hi nahi hai. Pehli baar dhanka rumor aya mere baare mein. Chalo main yahi sun ke khush hojati hun. It’s a bit funny for me because the first call for Dunki was from Raju Sir, but before that, rumours were circulating that I was being considered for this film, and just like any other rumour, I thought this wasn’t possible. So I was just happy that, for the first time, there is a good rumour about me.”

The actress continued, “But then I got a call from Sir. Unhone pehle yahi kaha ke chalo media ne bata hi diya hai to maine socha main bhi phone karke bol hi dun (He called me and said that the media has already been saying it, so I thought I might as well call and tell you).” Taapsee revealed that she was shooting for a South Korean film when she received the call, and Rajkumar Hirani assured her that he would narrate the story upon her return.

Reflecting on the unique experience, Taapsee added, “Toh wo eklauta aisa ek rumor that jo achha tha aur sach hua (This was the only rumour that was good and turned out to be true).”

Taapsee Pannu, renowned for her impactful roles in films like “Pink,” “Thappad,” and “Badla,” continues to make waves in the industry with her diverse and compelling performances. Her recent appearance in Rajkumar Hirani’s “Dunki,” alongside Shah Rukh Khan and Vicky Kaushal, has garnered attention and applause from audiences.
