The fixture between India and Canada at Lauderhill, Florida was scheduled to take place but had to be abandoned due to a wet outfield caused by overnight rains. This unfortunate turn of events means that India will now proceed to Barbados for their Super 8 fixture against Afghanistan. On the other hand, Canada, who managed to secure a single victory in the tournament against Ireland, exits the competition.

The weather forecast had been a concern leading up to the match, compounded by the sandy outfield conditions worsened by the overnight rain. Groundsmen attempted to rectify the situation using large hair dryers to dry the damp patches, but the overcast conditions hindered their efforts. Despite several inspections throughout the morning, the umpires ultimately deemed the outfield unfit for play. The cut-off time for a five-over game was set for 14:16 local time, but the decision to abandon the match was made much earlier, at 11:10 local time.

In Group A, alongside India and Canada, the United States had already qualified for the Super 8 stage, leaving Pakistan and Ireland out of contention. The venue, Lauderhill, Florida, will host another match between Pakistan and Ireland, which will complete the group stage fixtures before the tournament progresses to the Super 8 phase.
