Rohit Sharma’s Team India has arrived in Guyana to prepare for their semi-final match against England in the T20 World Cup 2024.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India posted a short video on their social media account showing skipper Rohit Sharma, spinner Axar Patel, and other players arriving in Guyana before their semi-final match. The Men in Blue were welcomed by a group of fans at the airport.

“#TeamIndia have reached Guyana for the Semi-final clash against England,” BCCI wrote on X while sharing the video.

India is in red-hot form in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024, remaining unbeaten. Rohit Sharma’s team recently defeated Australia by 27 runs. Their only dropped points came from the abandoned fixture against Canada due to rain in Lauderhill, Florida.

Meanwhile, Team England also reached Guyana for the semi-final. England cricket posted a tweet as the team boarded the aircraft for Georgetown with the message “Definitely England in the semi-finals.”

The last India-England Men’s T20 World Cup semi-final was 19 months ago in Adelaide, where Jos Buttler and Alex Hales led England to a 10-wicket win, prompting India to shift from established superstars to younger players and from conservatism to aggression.

Meanwhile, India has yet to win the T20 World Cup 2024 since its inception in 2007 and is striving for its first World Cup victory in any format since the 50-over tournament in 2011. The Men in Blue last claimed an ICC trophy in 2013 when they secured the ICC Champions Trophy in England.

India Squad: Rohit Sharma, Hardik Pandya, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav, Rishabh Pant, Sanju Samson, Shivam Dube, Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Yuzvendra Chahal, Arshdeep Singh, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohd. Siraj.
