The SOS artist experienced a remarkable night, securing a win at the 66th Grammys after being nominated nine times. SZA clinched the coveted golden gramophone in the Best R&B Song category for “Snooze.” Her emotional expression of gratitude during the acceptance speech captured a range of sentiments.

The 34-year-old artist swiftly made her way to the stage upon hearing her name announced for the R&B award. In her heartfelt speech, she conveyed her appreciation to everyone who contributed to her journey, stating, “It’s the culmination of everything. Of the moments leading up to that, even Lizzo and not realizing what was happening and being lost.” SZA, surprised by her victory, recounted the chaotic moments leading up to the announcement.

Initially unaware that her category was up next, she contemplated returning home, but a sudden urgency prompted her to return to her seat. The singer shared her initial confusion, recalling, “Then a woman starts yelling, ‘Run, run, run.’ So I thought they were running me to my seat because they needed a camera shot of me or something, but they did not lead me to my seat. They led me to the stage.” Relieved and overwhelmed, SZA expressed gratitude and acknowledged the intense experience, mentioning performances by Joni Mitchell and Stevie Wonder.

Choking back tears, she concluded her speech, reflecting on her journey and the surreal nature of the moment: “You don’t really understand. I came really, really far and I can’t believe this is happening, and it feels very fake.” SZA’s nomination was for her album “SOS,” released in 2022. Stay tuned to Pinkvilla for more updates on the Grammys.
