Late last night, a fire incident erupted in Tia Temisgam village near Nurla around 09:30 PM. The Leh Garrison and the nearest General Reserve Engineer Force (GREF) unit swiftly responded to the emergency, dispatching units to the scene. Under the vigilant supervision of the military formation, the firefighting efforts were successful, and by 02:00 AM, the fire was completely extinguished. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, showcasing the efficiency of the response.
Approximately 60 personnel and six Water Bowsers (WBs) were deployed to contain the fire, and their collaborative efforts prevented further damage to the community.
A morning assessment revealed that three houses were affected, with two completely burnt and one partially damaged. In an immediate response to the needs of the affected villagers, the Indian Army is providing temporary shelter to ensure temporary shelter.
