Swati Maliwal Assault Case: Bibhav Kumar Back from Mumbai

In a significant development in the Swati Maliwal assault case, Delhi Police have brought back Bibhav Kumar, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s aide, from Mumbai to Delhi. Kumar was escorted to three locations in Mumbai by Delhi Police, with his phone’s location tracked at each spot. The Police have also recorded statements from several individuals as part of their investigation into the assault case involving Swati Maliwal. This underscores the intensifying efforts by authorities to gather evidence and uncover the truth behind the incident.

On Tuesday, the Delhi Police escorted Bibhav Kumar, an assistant to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, to the airport. He departed for Mumbai to conduct an investigation into the assault case concerning AAP MP Swati Maliwal.

Subsequently, the police arrested Kumar in connection with the assault case involving Swati Maliwal, after detaining him at the CM’s residence. Delhi’s Tis Hazari Court later remanded Kumar to a five-day police custody, citing concerns over the accused’s formatting of a mobile phone and the absence of crucial video footage.

In response, Kejriwal denounced the arrest as a “Jail ka Khel” orchestrated by the Prime Minister, alleging a political vendetta against AAP. Maliwal, the victim, accused AAP of rallying to “save the accused” and highlighted the disappearance of CCTV evidence and manipulation of video footage. Consequently, AAP leaders, including Kejriwal, announced plans to protest at the BJP headquarters, condemning the arrest and threatening further arrests of AAP members.

Meanwhile, Maliwal lamented the disappearance of evidence and criticized the lack of support from her party. This incident underscores growing tensions between AAP and the BJP-led government amidst allegations of political targeting and manipulation of evidence.
