Even as the murkier details of actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s death are yet to tumble out, the political arena of Bihar warms up with the BJP and JD-U cornering the Congress over this issue. The JD-U has been patting its back over CM Nitish Kumar taking initiative and providing prompt support to the investigation agencies.

Both parties are aware of Sushant’s fan-following and are trying to utilise that for electoral gains. Regardless of the fact that the matter is in Supreme Court the political parties in Bihar have time and again been raking up the issue with RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav demanding a CBI probe under court monitoring.

Now even as the Congress and the Shiv Sena are trying to take up the issue of Nitish Kumar’s “unnecessary meddling” in the issue, the JD-U appears undisturbed and is getting support from the BJP.

Talking to The Daily Guardian, state minister and JD-U leader Neeraj Kumar said, “Congress has exposed itself and its dubious character in the whole issue. Nitish Kumar deserves all credit for having got a CBI probe initiated in the case.”

Similar sentiments were echoed by BJP spokesperson Nikhil Anand who said, “The conduct of Maharashtra government has been under scanner from the beginning. I am surprised how they did not even register a FIR in the case. Everyone wants to know the truth of the issue. Why is the Congress silent? There is public outcry and the way the Maharashtra government is reacting on the issue of a CBI probe into the issue does suggest that they don’t want the truth to come out.”

The RJD on the other hand is blaming the JD-U and the BJP. RJD leader Shakti Yadav said, “Our stand is very clear on the issue from the beginning. Our leader has been asking for a CBI probe into the matter. But the BJP and the JD-U are just trying to raise this issue because they want to deflect the attention from the other burning issues of corona and floods in the state.”
