Senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister, Kavinder Gupta, expressed unwavering confidence in the transformative potential of the impending Supreme Court verdict on Article 370, believing it to be a catalyst for a brighter future for the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
In a compelling statement issued today, Gupta lamented the prolonged suffering endured by the residents of Jammu and Kashmir under the weight of Article 370. He underscored the discriminatory nature of this provision, emphasizing its unjust impact on various communities, including Gorkhas, Safaikaramcharis, and refugees, robbing them of fundamental rights for over seven decades and impeding regional development.
“Whatever decision the Supreme Court makes, it will be made with the welfare of the people of Jammu and Kashmir at heart,” asserted Gupta, reflecting his optimism in the judiciary’s commitment to justice.
Gupta went on to highlight the tangible improvements witnessed since the abrogation of Article 370, citing significant progress in education, healthcare, and infrastructure development. He painted a picture of positive change and expressed confidence that the Supreme Court’s forthcoming decision would align with the government’s stance, paving the way for further advancements in the region.
“I believe that the Supreme Court will recognize the positive impact of removing Article 370 and allow the people of Jammu and Kashmir to enjoy the same rights and opportunities as their fellow citizens in the rest of the country,” concluded the former Deputy Chief Minister, hinting at the potential for a transformative era for the embattled region. The eyes of the nation are now eagerly fixed on the Supreme Court as it prepares to deliver a verdict that could shape the destiny of Jammu and Kashmir.
