To broaden the horizons of Class Eleventh students from 3B1 at the School of Eminence and provide them with hands-on insights into various professional fields, a career counseling exposure visit was organized at the District Administrative Complex in Mohali today.
During their interaction with Deputy Commissioner Aashika Jain, the students expressed keen interest in understanding her journey to civil services and how she balances family responsibilities with her official role.
Deputy Commissioner Jain, in addressing the students’ concerns, emphasized the importance of having a life goal. She shared her own journey, starting her pursuit of civil services in the eighth grade.
In response to queries about managing family and official responsibilities, she highlighted the need for effective time management and a focus on both roles, whether as a mother, wife, daughter, or Deputy Commissioner.
Deputy Commissioner Jain also briefed the students on the duties of District Administrative Officers, involving regulatory powers and welfare services such as maintaining law and order, ensuring health and education services, and overseeing roads infrastructure.
During interactions with ADC (Rural Development) Sonam Chaudhary and Assistant Commissioner (Under Trainee) Davy Goyal, the students showed interest in their roles and posed questions about their respective career paths.
The students visited SEWA Kendra, where theay learned about Citizen Oriented Services Delivery and the home delivery of 43 services under the ‘Bhagwant Mann Srakar Tuhade Dwar’ initiative, accessible by dialing 1076.
Deputy District Education Officer Angrej Singh, leading the students in this initiative, highlighted that the Department of School Education, in line with the directions of Punjab Education Minister S. Harjot Singh Bains, is conducting a series of exposure visits for students from Schools of Eminence (SoE).
