Modi invited Yunus to represent Bangladesh at the Global South Summit 2024 in New Delhi, which Yunus accepted. Modi reaffirmed India’s support for a “democratic, stable, peaceful, and progressive Bangladesh.” Yunus committed to ensuring the safety of Hindus and minorities in Bangladesh amid rising attacks, having previously called for peace from Dhaka’s Dhakeshwari Temple.
